Best Secret

Grandparenting Classes

for all new grandparents!

If you can attend grandparenting classes, this will be very awarding and beneficial to you and your grandchildren!

Not all hospitals provide this service!

So call the hospital where your child is having her baby to see if these classes are available.

Although there is a fee for this class, there is so much for each of us to learn.

I would suggest that if you can attend "Best Secret Grandparenting Classes" in your area, it will make your child caring more effective!

My daughter and I checked out books from our local library and purchased a couple of books from the bookstore, and continuously read articles from the Internet on twins. So much to learn, so little time!

I realized early in my daughter's pregnancy, as I repeat again, that there is still so much for us to learn before the birth of our grandsons.

If we can attend classes for grandparents, we will find it helpful to us and I know the expectant couple is happy!

We are all excited!

I might not have been so nervous about my daughter's pregnancy, if she were just having a singleton (one) baby that was going to be full term.

Yes, giving birth to a full-term, healthy child is easier for the Mom and grandparents.  Other concerns were NICU stays, medical issues, and how do you take care of premature babies!

We worried about the high-risk pregnancy complicated with a multiple (twin) births.

Yes, our daughter was considered high-risk since she had already had a miscarriage and testing had proven that she has a blood disorder that required various medications to be able to carry a child.

However, that was not the case.  These were scarey, concerned and of course, special times for all of us!

You may ask why?

Scarey when her blood counts are high, concerned when the smallest baby is transverse, and then so excited each time we see their shapes and sizes in a sonogram.

  • My very short, petite, beautiful daughter was pregnant with multiples, twin boys.
  • She was considered high-risk pregnancy because of her previous miscarriage and her recent discovery of a blood disorder.
  • We knew that the boys would be NICU babies and learning process for their parents and grandparents which is another whole page discussion!
  • She was put on bed rest at 7 months with limited movement within her home and she could no longer drive a car.   I volunteered to drive her to all appointments.
  • She was hospitalized 10 days prior to their birth.

  • My list would continually grow once our grandsons were born.
  • So we were very thankful that we were able to attend these very informative classes.
  • Those discussions made it easier for us to transition into the role of grandparents supporting our children during this beautiful time in life!

Grandparents First View

Our daughter and son-in-law were told about the "Best Secret Grandparenting Classes" during one of their birthing classes at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.

So they encouraged us to attend by registering us for the session and mentioned it to us at lunch one day.

As we attended this 2-night, 2 hour session, we felt that it was very informative and discussed so many of the relative changes that have occurred since we raised our children.

Each night after the class, as we drove home, my husband and I would discussed a segment of the class.

Food Pouch

Soon after we attended the "Best Secret Grandparenting Classes," my daughter and I began discussing the various child rearing topics, food, and toys and equipment that were considered appropriate back in the '80s when she and her brother were born.

We laughed at the multiple changes that have occurred in the last 30 years. We began making a list that I discuss on the page "My How Things Have Changed: Then and Now!"

If you can attend Grandparenting Classes, you will learn so much about childbirth today!

  • From birth experiences at the hospital
  • premature babies
  • breast feeding
  • childproofing your home with various products
  • a basket full of the required baby products that grandparents should consider buying for their home
  • most importantly, how to keep your grandchild safe!
  • Also, discussed during this time was the a developmental and immunization timeline that would be helpful to us after the boys arrived.

Grandmother and Baby

Also, I forgot to mention, as you attend "Best Secret Grandparenting Classes", you will meet other grandparents who are going through the same exciting times. You form a bond with them since you are all experiencing this wonderful joy. You share personal stories and excitement during these few hours together!  We shared cultural and family.

We saw a couple of these new grandparents while we were still waiting for our twin grandsons to go home from the NICU.

An exciting time for all Grandparents and of course, you want to share it with family, your neighbors, and of course, the world!

Thus, the birth of this website:!

Birth of my Son
